STEM Research and Modeling Network
The STEM Research and Modeling Network (SRMN) is an open innovation network hosted by the Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF) and dedicated to advancing the development and use of the U.S. STEM Education Model, a system dynamics model developed by the Raytheon Company, and similar complementary tools. Raytheon has gifted the model to BHEF, which is making the model available in open source to the public to help increase the number of students who pursue majors and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – the disciplines collectively known as STEM.
The model is being managed by a partnership among BHEF, the Battelle Center for Mathematics and Science Education Policy at The Ohio State 0niversity (OSU), and Raytheon, who collectively founded the SRMN in 2008. Additional partners have joined the group as work progressed. Using the U.S. STEM Education Model as a starting point, the SRMN provides an open innovation platform for developing a common set of STEM education and research priorities. By bringing together multiple stakeholders, the SRMN fosters dynamic collaboration around modeling and research to improve practice and policy.
We invite researchers, modelers, practitioners, funders, and policy makers to join the SRMN. To access the model, go to the Model page. For more information about the SRMN and how you and your organization can get involved, see the Connect page.
